Russell Rouse's thriller stars Ray Milland as Dr Allan Fields, a nuclear scientist who is also a spy for an unnamed foreign power. Fields falls under FBI surveillance and goes on the run after a murder causes him to suffer a crisis of conscience. In a fascinating cinematic experiment, the film was made with no dialogue, with the plot and the delineation of the characters revealed solely through actions and expressions.
