Very useful piece of kit for home projects
We'd had one of these workmates for many years already, but needed another one for a bigger project. They are versatile and very useful for home projects. Simple, well made, very quick and easy to do the initial assembly, very easy to operate and adjust. They provide a variety of options to secure your workpiece to them, however you will most probably need additional clamps, to ensure you can secure a wider variety of sizes. Note that this workmate is suitable for working with small to medium-size parts - if you have larger parts, you may need another workmate (still saves space in storage, as compared to a large workbench), or if you are working with small items, you may need appropriate vice and smaller clamps. This is an old design that still works well, however the instruction manual is so bad, you have to guess how to assemble it by trial and error.Be patient, maybe get help, because if you do get it together it will do the job well!

Best "TOOL" ever bought. Took years to purchase this product, thought about it many times but always postponed an actual purchase. Realize now how much easier life could have been. Less accidents, mishaps etc. The original designer should have been Knighted!

536 is the width of the unit. Its a basic one, no fancy gimmicks, it just does exactly what it says on the tin. Its smaller than im used to, but that makes it more portable and easier to store than its counterparts, which is perfect as I have limited space at home but also need to take it to work at times. I'm happy.
