Melbourne Autos was formed in 1970 and is a family run business. In that time we have seen many changes in and around the motor industry. We recycle and dispose of vehicles to the highest environmental standard having strict procedures in place during the dismantling process.

BUYING
Please remember that by clicking 'Buy it now' you are willingly entering a legally binding contract with us, and agree to these terms and conditions below.
The parts we sell are from auto-salvage and secondhand cars and, as such, these parts will sometimes have small marks on them from everyday use ie: stone chips. These minor blemishes will not be pointed out but any marks we consider significant will always be listed in the description.
Postage costs are to most mainland UK addresses, contact us for postage to Isles, Highlands or elsewhere.
We generally refrain from international shipment, although Europe may be considered. Please contact us via eBay before buying so we can advise you on expected shipping times and cost. We will require the complete destination contact details to do this and payment must be made via Bank Transfer. You would have to wait for this to clear before any item would be despatched.
Buyers must ensure they read the item listing fully, confirm it is for the correct vehicle, and be fully prepared to have the part installed by a qualified technician where deemed necessary.
Items not paid for within 72 hours of purchase will be automatically re-listed and the purchaser reported as non-paying, which may affect your ability to buy on eBay in the future.
Title to the goods shall remain with Melbourne Autos until paid in full with cleared funds.
We will endeavour to supply the exact part you require but due to variations in manufacture we cannot guarantee parts are correct for the purpose required. It is the customers responsibility to make sure that the parts bought are for their particular vehicle, however, if we are notified within 72 hours of purchase for any incorrectly fitting part we will attempt to replace it for another part in similar condition.
Please note all items sold are drained of fluids/oils.
DELIVERY
Please note that for security we will only send items to the purchasers PayPal address. With large items (For example, engines and gearboxes) we understand these may need to be sent to a different address, we can make arrangements for this, although payment will have to be made via Bank Transfer and you would have to wait for this to clear before any item would be despatched.

All goods should be inspected upon delivery before signing to ensure that the item has not been damaged in transit. If goods prove to be damaged, do not sign, refuse delivery & contact us within one working day. This is to ensure that if necessary, a claim can be made against the courier company. In the event that the delivery driver does not allow time to inspect the goods. sign the Delivery Note to obtain them, but delete any wording in the signature box to the effect that the goods were ‘Received in good condition’.
Pick up can be arranged but you will have to collect during our hours of business from the trading address as detailed above.
WARRANTY
Please contact us with regards to any problems with parts we have supplied. Our contact details will be found on the invoice supplied.
All of our items come with a 30 day warranty, this excludes all items described as untested, un-working or “spares or repair”, and these are not warranted in any way.
If a part provided by us is deemed faulty, it must be returned to us within the above time at the buyer’s expense for Melbourne Autos to confirm the fault. If the fault is deemed to have existed prior to purchase then return costs will be refunded by Melbourne Autos.
If a replacement part cannot be supplied we will provide a refund.
Warranty is excluded from electrical items such as ECU's, ABS Units and Multimedia devices that require recoding or keying to your Vehicle as we have no way of telling if that has been carried out by a non-qualified person resulting in damage to the unit. Such items are also excluded from our returns policy
The warranty does not cover any labour charges or from any fault arising from the fitting of the purchased part. We will refund the price of the part in full but will not pay for any fitting charges. It is your responsibility to check that any part supplied is correct prior to fitting.
This warranty is void if any part supplied has been tampered with in any way i.e seals broken, taken apart etc. Please note all parts supplied are security marked. Removal of these marks will invalidate your warranty. No parts may be altered, modified or dismantled in anyway (except for routine service adjustment) without our permission. Failure to comply with these terms will also invalidate your warranty.
Engines are sold complete less ancillaries and when replaced must be fitted with new timing belt, auxiliary belts, oil, filters and spark plugs. Warranty excludes timing belts, auxiliary belts, gaskets, seals/oil leaks and engine accessories ie: water pump, fuel pump, carburettor, distributor, thermostat etc.
If previous overheating has been experienced a new/reconditioned radiator must be fitted when the engine is replaced.
Proper oil and coolant levels must be maintained at all times for warranty to be valid. If Heat Tabs have been melted, tampered with, damaged, or are missing then warranty will be deemed void.
Engines are warranted against cracked blocks, excessive smoking, bad cam or crankshafts and to be in good running order unless otherwise stated. Cylinder heads are warranted against cracks only.
RETURNS
Under selling regulations a private customer has a seven day “cooling off” period in which they may return the goods to us for a refund. However, delivery is a separate contract and once completed is non-refundable.
Goods once signed for are to be returned at the Customers expense. In the event that a part is supplied as ordered but the customer had ordered incorrectly, we must be contacted immediately and the part returned to us within seven days of purchase at the cost of the customer.
Refunds will only be made upon the arrival of the goods to our premises. All parts must be returned with our Company Invoice/Receipt. Returns will not be processed without this documentation (PayPal/eBay printouts are not acceptable proof of Purchase).
Handling charges vary and are in place to cover the time and labour involved in processing and checking returned items.
These terms and conditions of sale are not intended to restrict or exclude any legal rights bestowed or implied by Law or a consumers statutory rights under the the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any amendment thereof.
