brilliant build quality and the adjustment from 2 mtrs to 4 mtrs is what makes this piece of equipment so useful. The blades will slice thru "Thumb size" branches quite easily but at 4 mtrs full length it can be tough on the arms for the casual gardener but the cutter works well. The mechanism of the cutter is also far superior to the tree loppers that have a side lever or saw and also the additional length means that standing on step ladders is also reduced. A very good design is the cutting blade which is on a ratchet so you can adjust the angle which allows you to see the blade and position exactly where you want to cut using the orange blade guide, an excellent design feature. It does require frequent changing of the extended length when working on a larger tree in order for the mechanism to be operated, but again the design is such that this is a simple operation with a single small lever/clamp.. Personally it was very cost effective to invest in this cutter for my two garden trees as I had been quoted £480 for pruning one tree and that was cutting it very low rather than pruning & shaping the top 2 metre thinner branches to a nice level & shape. take care if you use step ladders and remember that when fully extended the weight can unbalance you. Overall an excellent design, build quality and operation. Read full review

Very high quality but, not as useful as I had hoped. The jaw width is so small one struggles to close in on a branch to cut, especially when using it 4-6m away where the jaw can become obscured by other greenery. The orange plastic extension to the upper jaw is not robust enough - flops around and I am waiting for it to snap off. It could also be improved by having the ability to fasten onto the branch just cut to pull it away from remaining vegetation. It is probably OK when seeking to cut discrete branches off trees without much leafage

Best tree pruner long reach lopper i've ever had cuts through the branches at height with ease up to its cutting limit of course . No ropes and pully system exposed to get tangled in rest of tree

Fiskars pruner UPX86. this tool is perfect for reaching high branches etc. and very easy to use [for me anyway, I have arthritis in my fingers]. It cuts easily, although more pressure is needed for the thicker bits, if it gets stuck [like all pruners can] I always keep the blade oiled or spray WD40 on the business end. For me it is brilliant.

Does a great job. Reasonably light. Nonstick wears off quickly, so superfluous. NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS supplied, available online or from manufacturer. They simply don't exist! Some helpful YouTube videos. Little info about maintenance. I can't work out function of the new rubberised piece at the end - just seems get permanently bent out of line very quickly and get in the way. Recommended nevertheless.
