    42ltr topbox

    This is my second one, as the first one was lost. The fixing of the box to the plate (supplied with top box) is by a bolt with a knob that you tightened to hold the top box in place, on the inside of the box. Now by no means am I complaining but after a 130 mile round trip the bolt must have vibrated loose and off came the top box. I don't know where or when it came off and luckily only had a pair of w/proof trousers and a can of wd40 in it....... This has not put me off BUT I will change the way it is locked onto the plate when my new one arrives. THE TOP BOX ITSELF IS JUST WHAT I WANT. Just beware!

    Leaky.

    Cheap and cheerful, except in the rain. The super clever top rack (which was the main selling point for me) lets the rain in. Apart from that it's not a bad box for the price. But I wish I'd bought new 2 helmet sized one instead.

    What's not to like!!

    Starting from the top. The top rack has very limited use as you could only put a very light item on it. The top box seems to be sturdy but the lock is rather crude and snaps closed very easily. If you keys are in there you have a real problem. As I have not used it in the rain I cannot say if it lets in Water. It would be nice to have a stoplight conversion kit. Base plate is a good design but I could only use 3 of the fixings as I did not want to drill the rack. The bolts and retainers could do with a redesign as they are unsightly.

    not a topbox biker but fed up tying stuff to bike, used topbox for 1st time ever today was great put my leathers in it to watch superbikes in the sunshine saved me carrying them around, dont look good on my beautiful bike but hey ho u cant have everything, would defo recommend and a decent price, while riding bike didn't actually notice much difference/buffeting was surprised by this, the lock could be flush would give a little more space.

    Very good quality for the price.

    The box is made of quality plastic with strong hinges and a decent lock with two keys, the handle is very useful and is spring loaded so that it stays in position without rattling when riding. I am impressed with the top box for the price and the fitting plate is good quality too. I would recommend this top box.
