Windsurf Sail Materials
Windsurfing sails are available in a choice of materials, the most commonly available being Dacron, Mylar and Monofilm. Which material you choose depends on your ability and your preferred style of windsurfing. Generally, Dacron is lightweight and not as resistant to damage with Monofilm sails being more robust and less likely to go out of shape. You can find a choice of Monofilm sails, which you might prefer over a less resistant material thanks to its durability.

As well as size and material there are things to consider such as visibility on the water. Clear panels in the sail will help you see where you are going and a brightly coloured sail helps you to stand out to others on the water.
