It is very light my first thoughts it would not be able to do the hoovering well enough but it does it has a floor adjustable switch which operates the level of the hoover very good it is too . Easy to use on the stairs . The downside is that it does not empty pet hair etc very well or if it's full Up which is a annoyance. The folding handle makes it easy to store
